The first order of business is to rent a tent for the reception—this keeps the sun off, and the rain away.  Children especially love outdoor weddings because after the ceremony, they can run around and be easily occupied with outdoor activities.  The grass should really be cut 2 or 3 days before the wedding, and then again (depending upon the month) the day before the wedding—early in the day.  With all your last minute things to do, enlist a friend or family member (an uncle) to look after the yard and ensure it is all trim and clean for your wedding day.
