Wedding theme ideas
One of the first things you should think of in planning a wedding is the wedding theme. Do you want to go with traditional or do you want to make a mark? If it’s the latter, these wedding theme ideas will make it easy for you. The wedding theme is one of the things that you have to figure out in planning your wedding.
Beach Wedding
Enjoy the beauty of nature by having a beach wedding. Let the sight of the waves and the sound of the breeze enchant you and your guests. Play with your imagination on how you would want lilies, hibiscus, orchids and roses be arranged. Make use of palms, tiki torches and seashells for added ornaments. After the wedding, they can have a dip into the beach to complete the event.
Winter Wedding
The perfect wedding gown for the bride is the classic long-sleeved wedding dress with white faux fur, hand-sewn beadwork and intricate embroidery pattern. The bride will sparkle even more if she wears diamond pieces for her jewelry. It’s best to have the wedding in a place where there is a great view of ice-covered mountains or river and a fireplace that can give warmth to everybody. The popular winter wedding flowers are daisies, poinsettias, red or white roses, carnations, snowball mums, magnolias, gardenias, freesias, amaryllis, chrysanthemums and calla lilies. For the menu, don’t forget to add warm pumpkin soup, eggnog and squash dish. You may not be a Hollywood celebrity but still you can have a romantic and magical winter wedding.
Garden Wedding
A garden wedding is one of the most relaxing wedding themes because it involves the elements of nature-trees, flowers, birds, etc. When you say garden themed wedding, it doesn’t necessarily need to be held in a garden. If you don’t have a garden or you can’t afford to rent a garden space, you can have it indoors and transform the place into a garden by making use of lovely flowers. If you are lucky to bring it outdoors, don’t make the mistake of using metal chairs for your guests because they easily heat up under the sun. Let your guests know in advance that you’ll have a garden wedding by allowing your wedding invitations speak on your behalf. Decorate your invitations with dried pressed flowers and floral prints.
Asian Wedding
When you mention the word Asian, the first two countries that come to mind are Japan and China. Having no Asian roots cannot stop you from experiencing their rich culture-that includes the wedding traditions. Each Asian country has a distinct traditional wedding dress for the bride. In China, they call it cheong sam- the form fitting red Chinese dress with beautiful dragon and phoenix designs. In Japan, they have formal wedding kimono which is made of white silk. If you don’t like to stick to the traditional Asian wedding dress because it may look queer on you, you can mix it with Western touch. Remember to style your hair with chopsticks. For the food, you can serve Japanese sushi, chicken teriyaki, wonton soup, California maki and pot stickers among others. Don’t miss to serve the Japanese rice wine called sake. Use bear grass, orchids, and lilies for your flower decorations.
Castle Wedding
If you can afford to experience being a princess on your wedding day, go for a castle wedding. You don’t need to belong to a royal family to enjoy the luxury and grandeur of a castle wedding because there are castles which you can rent all-over Europe and America. You have the option to wear the usual wedding dress or periodic costumes.
Aside from those mentioned above, you can have a fairytale wedding, a picnic wedding, a Halloween wedding and many other wedding theme ideas. It’s nice to be unique. Just make sure your novel ideas won’t compromise the comfort of your guests and yours as well.
